**Junior Cyber Security Consultant - Penetration Tester**

Based in Manchester, UK, we are an independent Cyber Security Consultancy providing Security Consultancy, Penetration Testing and Managed Security services across a wide range of markets - from multi-national Corporate Organisations and Government Agencies, through to smaller Businesses looking to build strong security foundations.

We are looking to recruit a Junior Penetration Tester to join our growing CREST accredited team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a keen interest in cyber security and penetration testing, who is looking to develop their skills and grow within a supportive team. **Role**

You will work with Public and Private Sector clients - from SMEs to start-ups - and assist with delivering findings, reports, analysis and basic remedial support after tests. You’ll work alongside more experienced testers and be supported in developing your skills and gaining relevant qualifications.

Due to the nature of our work with the Public Sector, you will need to hold or be eligible for SC clearance (you must have been a UK resident for the past 5 years).

**Key responsibilities**:

- Support Red Team and social engineering engagements.
- Contribute to proposal drafting and scoping discussions with clients.
- Assist with creating test reports and presenting findings.
- Help clients understand findings and advise on initial remediation steps.
- Learn from and support senior team members in the delivery of testing engagements.

**Qualifications, Experience and Skills required**:

- 6 months - 2 years' experience in cyber security or penetration testing.
- Desire to work towards certifications such as OSCP, CRT, CSTM or similar.
- Basic knowledge of tools like Nmap, Burpsuite, Nessus, or Kali Linux.
- An understanding of OWASP Testing Methodologies.
- Eagerness to learn and develop strong client-facing skills.

**Nice to have Skills**:

- Academic or practical experience related to Penetration Testing.
- Knowledge of scripting or programming languages such as Python, Java or JavaScript.
- Previous exposure to Public Sector environments.
- Existing SC clearance.

**Package**
- £26 - £35k per annum dependent on skills and experience
- Up to 10% annual bonus (if targets met)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £40,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
