As part of this commitment, we’re seeking a strategic and compassionate leader to join us as our new **Head of Health & Wellbeing**. In this high-impact role, you’ll shape and deliver a forward-thinking health and wellbeing strategy that enables our people to thrive—physically, mentally, and emotionally.
You’ll lead a dedicated team and work collaboratively across the business to embed a culture of wellbeing, manage key service providers, and ensure our approach meets the highest standards of care, compliance, and innovation.
**What does the job involve?**
- Leading the development and implementation of a holistic health and wellbeing strategy aligned with organisational goals and best practice.
- Managing and evaluating third-party occupational health providers, including physiotherapy, drug and alcohol screening, and employee assistance programmes.
- Providing expert advice on occupational health, regulatory compliance, and statutory requirements.
- Overseeing the delivery of wellbeing initiatives, including mental health support, absence management, and engagement programmes.
- Line managing the Engagement & Wellbeing Manager and Lead HR Services Officer (Occupational Health).
- Developing and maintaining quality assurance systems to meet internal standards and external accreditations (e.g. SEQOHS).
- Monitoring and reporting on workforce health trends, including absence and restricted duties, to inform business decisions.
- Representing the company in industry forums and working groups, contributing to policy development and research.
- Managing departmental budgets and ensuring value for money in service delivery.
**Knowledge and Experience**
- Degree-level education (Occupational Health or a related field preferred).
- NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent in Occupational Safety and Health.
- Proven leadership experience at a senior level, with the ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams.
- Strong background in occupational health management, with knowledge of clinical governance and quality standards.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills across a wide range of stakeholders.
- Experience managing third-party contracts and working in multi-agency environments.
- Financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and delivering cost-effective services.
- Ability to interpret complex information and make sound, evidence-based decisions.
