**School Improvement Advisor - Secondary and Post 16**
**Soulbury Salary band: £52,805 - £56,976 pro rata (Band 10-13 **dependent** upon experience, with SPA points available where applicable).**
**Incremental progression is **dependent** on performance.**
**Hours: 22.2 hours per week - days to be negotiated.**
**Contract type - Part time, permanent**
We have an exciting opportunity for a School Improvement Advisor to join the Education Excellence Team within the City of Wolverhampton, working closely with Headteachers, school governors, a range of Local Authority services and Ofsted to ensure the best possible standards of education for our children and young people. A secondment for this post would be considered.
With successful leadership shown through a proven track record in a school and/or local authority experience, you will be the allocated School Improvement Advisor for a group of secondary schools (LA and academy) as well take the lead in supporting the Post 16 offer across Wolverhampton. A deep understanding of whole school strategies for raising achievement is essential.

To be considered for this post, you will need to demonstrate:
- A proven track record of school improvement in secondary provision, as a leader in school / local authority position
- Strong leadership skills and ability to champion improving outcomes for pupils
- Ability to promote school-led leadership and work in partnership with leaders in allocated schools.
- Excellent understanding of the context in which schools work and strategies to overcome underachievement.
- Excellent understanding of how to use schools' data and other performance management information systems to support school improvement.
- Experience of working with a wide variety of stakeholders in an ever-changing and rapidly evolving educational landscape.
- Be knowledgeable about the current Ofsted inspection framework

**Our working arrangements**
All council roles are allocated to either a fixed, field or flexible work style. Some roles are agile which enable and empowers employees to maximise their performance and productivity, whilst maintaining a healthy work life balance. Roles with a fixed workstyle work in a fixed permanent council location. Roles with a field workstyle are usually allocation where employees are required to be out working in the community with a minimum requirement for 'touch down' space at any council location. Roles with a flexible workstyle have a flexible base location to meet the needs of the business and employees can work from a mixture of home or any council office, partner/client, or external location, as required to meet service requirements.
