**Your next role**

As a country park warden working for SBC you will be responsible for the upkeep and improvement of four of our flagship country parks across the borough - Coate Water, Lydiard Park, Stanton Park and Barbury Castle. The core elements of the role are to ensure the parks are clean, presentable, safe and attractive places for people to enjoy and wildlife to thrive.

Core duties will include:
Cleaning toilets and BBQ’s, emptying bins, litter picking, fishing and statutory safety checks (play park, dams, splash park), vegetation management (mowing and strimming), engaging with the public, contractors and external events.

Alongside the core duties to ensure the country parks and safe and presentable spaces, we also manage the sites for wildlife conservation. With this in mind we host regular volunteer sessions around the parks to improve habitats and biodiversity, there will be opportunities to be part of those sessions.

You must have good time keeping and organisational skills, be self-motivated and reasonably fit as the work is physically demanding. Excellent communication skills are required as you will be dealing with the general public and contractors on a daily basis.

A full licence is essential.

The role includes working every other weekend and some bank holidays.
- You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”)._
- The ability to travel throughout the Borough will be required in order to be available to support sessions and events around the town._
