The Company

We’re Blind Veterans UK, a charity that helps vision-impaired ex-service people from every generation rebuild their lives after their sight has been affected. Founded in 1915, by Sir Arthur Pearson, to help the many veterans losing their sight after the First World War, we have over a century of experience providing the best care to our veterans.

Since then, we’ve provided support to tens of thousands of vision-impaired veterans, helping them to regain their independence. By providing our members with the tools and skills they need to lead a fulfilling and active life, we ensure they remain valued members of society.

We are currently seeking a Facilities Project Support to join us on a full-time basis for a six-month, fixed-term contract, working 35 hours per week.

The Role

As a Facilities Project Support, you will support a large-scale refurbishment project for our new centre in Princess Marina House in Rustington, West Sussex.

Providing efficient and confidential administrative support to our Facilities Manager, you will monitor project progress and maintain tracking and dashboard documents.

You will audit contract performance documents, conduct reviews of compliance documentation and raise quotations, POs and invoices.

Additionally, you will control project documentation and maintain our electronic filing system with accurate, up-to-date documentation.

About You

To be considered as a Facilities Project Support, you will need:

- Administrative or secretarial experience
- Experience of financial administration, POs and invoicing
- Knowledge of facilities management, property services and/or Health & Safety
- An understanding of document control and compliance
- The ability to collate, analyse and visualise numerical data
- Excellent IT skills including MS Office programs

Ideally, you will have experience of working as an administrator for a medium-sized charitable organisation.

Experience of using creating and interpreting data collection systems for analysis would be highly beneficial, as would experience of using CAFM, CAD and finance software packages.
