**Job description**:
The Senior Governance Lead is responsible for running the Home Office Technical Design Authority (TDA). The board is chaired by the Chief Technology Officer. The Board ratifies technology investment decisions, designs, and choices for the wider Department - directly or delegated to Portfolio TDA boards.

The TDA is going through an evolution to be fully representative of the broadest needs of Technology and Digital delivery. The post holder will be a key participant in this evolution - ensuring that the TDA continues to meet the needs of the organisation, senior partners and the governance and assurance landscape within DDaT and across the department.

You will have a strong ability to build teamwork around ambiguity in an often-changing business environment. You will demonstrate strong reasoning capabilities, driving a vision of assurance management both with team and wider networks. This role would suit someone with a transformational leadership style willing to innovate to deliver the best outcomes for the business and the team.

Leading all aspects of the day-to-day logistics and operation of the TDA Secretariat function ensuring that all of the required components are in place to enable meetings to run efficiently and optimally. On a day-to-day basis, you will collaborate with team members and other DDaT and cross HO boards, to ensure that the right information is passed to and from Head of Technology and Digital Assurance as needed.

The role relies on ability to build wider relationship and leadership skills and experience in managing upwards. You will have the ability to prioritise effectively and to demonstrate organisational skills. An ability to be self-starting in a high-pressured environment will be key. You will be confident to work directly with our most senior members of staff and Board members, and able to handle sensitive information appropriately.

Main responsibilities will include:

- Leading, building and maintaining engagement across DDaT and wider HO boards utilising those relationships for the benefit of the TDA e.g. Finance and Investment Committee Secretariat, Portfolio CTOs, Business Design Authorities, Business Planning Management.
- Building strong networks across Home Office, working collaboratively with colleagues within DDaT function and portfolio to develop strategies, using strong negotiation skills to drive forward key priorities.
- Being an informed and knowledgeable point of contact for TDA by reviewing, challenging and prioritising submissions and communicating recommendations for consideration, providing advice and support to stakeholders (including CTOs and senior programme leads) to support the effective running of the boards.
