We are looking for an experienced Senior Support Worker who has worked within an environment of Learning Disabilities and Autism to take on an exciting new venture. The aim is to continue to develop the service working towards Outstanding CQC ratings over the next year.

**What we need from you**:
Working as a Senior Support Worker, your job is to supervise other team members as well as supporting people to be as involved as possible in every part of their day to day lives so that they can be full and active members of society. To safely promote and encourage independence, choice and community inclusion. Always respecting that you are supporting the person within their own home.

**Responsibilities**:

- Supervising frontline workers as they support people to participate in their chosen activity. This includes carry out regular supervision sessions and appraisals with selected staff.
- Ensuring the clients are supported to receive and attend chosen leisure activities as detailed within their person-centred care plans.
- Co-ordinating scheduled activities for the people supported, within personalised rota’s and liaising with others ensuring facilitated activities are attended, whist ensuring highest standards of performance are achieved.
- Coaching people with their personal care, and with any challenges they face.
- Encouraging the person to utilise or develop any proactive strategies to maintain their emotional wellbeing and mental health. This includes following any written plans and guidelines for each person.
- To contribute to the planning, development and implementation of activities developed through the person-centred planning process
- To create and prepare written information/reports to include support plans, guidelines, risk assessments and attend care reviews along with the Manager/Deputy Care Manager.
- Monitor absence and sickness of staff team and follow Absence Policy of recording and reporting Manager/Deputy Care Manager.
- Involvement with the recruitment and induction of new team members

**Skills and Experience**:
**Essential**:

- Level 3 diploma in health and social care or equivalent
- Innovative and forward thinking
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience of supporting individuals with Mental Health, Learning Disabilities or Challenging Behaviour.
- Good basic comprehension of English language including basic literacy and numerical skills i.e. GCSE level or equivalent
- Ongoing commitment to own personal development and training
- A genuine desire to promote someone independence and provide person centred care.

**Desirable**:

- Willing to work towards Level 3 and Level 4 Diploma in Leadership

and Management in health and social care or equivalent.
- Hold a full driving licence
- A relevant First Aid and/or Food Hygiene Certificate

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £11.00-£11.75 per hour
