Senior Specialist Support Worker
Location: Twigworth, Gloucester
Hours: Up to 45 hours per week
Pay: £14.92 per hour
Shift Pattern: Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Driving Requirements: Due to the nature of this role, a UK Full Clean driving license with access to a vehicle with
business insurance (or willingness to obtain) is essential. You may also be required to drive the
individual's vehicle if necessary.
DBS Check: This role is subject to a satisfactory DBS check, which will be provided by
Prosperity Care & Wellbeing.

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Support Worker who has experience working with challenging behaviours to join our award-winning team.
Your Role:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Senior Support Worker to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will provide high-quality care and support to young adults with complex needs and challenging behaviours. You will play a key role in supporting individuals with daily living activities, fostering their independence, and helping them achieve their personal goals to enhance their quality of life.
As a Senior Support Worker, you will also play a key role in leading and guiding our team of Support Workers. You'll assist in fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment, while ensuring that both individuals and staff receive the support they need to thrive.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and support a team of Support Workers to deliver excellent care, promoting independence and well-being for individuals with complex needs and challenging behaviours.
- Provide hands-on support and guidance in managing challenging behaviours, ensuring safety and well-being.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment, promoting a culture of respect, dignity, and empowerment.
- Assist with training and development for support staff, offering practical guidance and emotional support as needed.
- Participate in risk assessments, ensuring all individuals receive appropriate levels of care and support.
- Handle confidential information with the utmost care, in line with policies and procedures.
- To Provide emotional and practical support.
Requirements:
- Must have experience with Complex Care and Challenging Behaviours.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and support a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with individuals, families, and colleagues.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, person-centred care, and relevant legislation and best practices.
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach with the ability to manage difficult situations effectively.
- Commitment to reducing restrictive practices.
- Able to demonstrate resilience and commitment to the role
