We are looking for a Database Administrator role for a growing company based in Bury, who are investing in the business by migrating and improving programmes, using the latest technology within their teams.
In this role we are looking for someone with experience using SQL and SSIS, however the company is very invested in continuous learning, therefore there are opportunities for you to expand your skills in areas such as Azure and AWS.
This is a great role for someone looking to progress in their career and develop new skills as training will be provided.

**The company**
Oscar have worked with this particular client for years and have made a number of placements within their data team. We have a new Database Administrator and this position is really focused on the optimisation and development of their databases.
They are a growing company with data usage at the heart of its growth plans. They have been going through a large upgrade, migration and improvement program and as a result now have up to date technologies across the MS BI Technology stack and cloud datastorage. Due to the change in technology, they are heavily invested in providing training programmes for their teams, therefore an openness and eagerness to learn is important.
**The Role**
We are looking for someone to optimise their current databases. The do have a large data structure and gather large amounts of data from their customer base so we are looking for someone very adept in SQL who can get into the nuts and bolts of their systems.
The have just signed off a significant investment in the data team so not only with there be further growth in terms of personal but also they will be upgrades their technology further. They will have a cloud data warehouse, a data lake and they will becreating advanced data models.
We are looking for good skills in SQL Programming as well as SSIS and the ability to write stored procedures. This is really all the skills we are focusing on, there will be a small amount of reporting in the position so skills in PowerBI or SSRS would beuseful but not essential.
**Responsibilities**:
- Transforming and centralising raw data from multiple platforms into user friendly reporting data
- Development of insightful Dashboards and presentation of those to stakeholders
- Automating of business critical reports.
- Technical Development of the Data Warehouse
- Troubleshooting performance issues.
- Continuously evaluate the relevant and suitability of technologies and provide recommendations and benefits to such tools.
- Assists in updates and upgrades of the BI environment.
- Maintain and update the SSIS and SSRS process to meet organisational reporting needs.
- Liaising with non-technical users to understand and solve data requirements.
- To deliver and refine high quality and relevant BI solutions to drive a performance management culture.
**Requirements**:
- SQL programmingessential skill for this role
- SSIS and Stored Procedures - essential skill for this role
- Reporting tool - Power BI / SSRS - this would be a nice to have for this role.
