Help shape a child’s learning journey with care, creativity and connection

**Summary**
A welcoming primary school is looking for a thoughtful and engaging 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a KS2 pupil with global developmental delay, currently working at a KS1 level. This long-term position is ideal for someone who can bring warmth, consistency and imagination to their work, adapting support to match a personalised curriculum.

**About the Role**
This is a rewarding opportunity to support a child who thrives with clear routines, a hands-on approach and gentle encouragement. Working closely with the class teacher, you’ll help deliver a bespoke, accessible learning experience tailored to the pupil’s stage of development. Your role will involve:

- Providing calm, patient 1:1 support throughout the school day
- Using creative and practical strategies to keep learning engaging and meaningful
- Supporting communication, independence and confidence in the classroom
- Encouraging social interaction and peer inclusion at the child’s pace
- Collaborating with the teacher and SENCO to follow an adapted curriculum plan
- Offering consistent encouragement and care to help the child feel secure

**Who We’re Looking For**
This role is suited to someone with experience in SEND, care, or support work, particularly with pupils who need differentiated teaching and nurturing support. A good sense of humour, creativity and a calm, encouraging presence are essential. You should be:

- Adaptable and responsive to the needs of the individual child
- Compassionate, consistent and emotionally attuned
- Confident in supporting pupils working below age-related expectations
- Experienced in SEND, EYFS or 1:1 support roles (or able to demonstrate transferable skills from care or similar settings)
- A team player who communicates well with staff and families

**The School**
This is a caring, inclusive school that values every child as an individual. Staff take a collaborative approach to meeting additional needs and pride themselves on building trusting relationships with children and families. The school offers a nurturing environment where pupils are encouraged to grow in confidence and ability at their own pace.

**Working Hours**
Monday to Thursday: 1.00pm - 3.00pm
Friday: 9.00am - 3.00pm
Term time only
Start date: ASAP

**The Benefits**
- Competitive pay
- Warm, collaborative team with SEND expertise
- Chance to gain valuable experience in a long-term setting

If you’re passionate about inclusive education and ready to bring your creative, caring approach to the classroom, we’d love to hear from you.
