Four Square Scotland is an Edinburgh charity working for more than 40 years to prevent homelessness and promote inclusion. We provide services directly to people who are homeless, or who are at risk of homelessness to overcome any barriers they may face in creating a stable life for themselves in their community. As a social enterprise, our café plays a dual role in generating income and providing volunteering opportunities and career development for individuals who have faced homelessness in Edinburgh.

**About the role**
We are looking for someone to join the existing team to help run all day-to-day operations of our café whilst also providing support with on-site supervision to our staff and volunteers. This role will involve customer service, food and drink preparation, general café tasks, ordering, and additionally supporting and mentoring our staff volunteers within the café. The successful applicant will be proactive, can work flexibly and efficiently, as well as having a calm and compassionate nature.

**KEY DUTIES**:

- Hot drinks preparation -Food preparation, including takeaway
- Stock management and ordering
- Opening and closing the café
- Cash handling
- Customer service
- Maintaining Health & Safety standards, including completing necessary records
- Assist with training new and existing staff and volunteers
- Delivering training activities one-to-one to our volunteers during their café shifts
- Communication with the whole team in order to ensure continuity
- Carry out any other duties within the general scope of the post, as directed by the Manager/Assistant Manager

**Experience**:

- Hospitality: 1 year (preferred)
- Supervisory experience: 1 year
- You will be asked to complete a criminal records statement as part of our recruitment process. The role is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974_.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £13.19 per hour

Expected hours: 13 per week
