At Wigginton Primary School we aim to develop open and enquiring minds and above all, a love of learning that will last a lifetime.

We are currently seeking to recruit a dedicated and reliable person to carry out a caretaking role at our school for 2 hours per morning (10 hours per week).

Applicants for the caretaking role should have previous caretaker/keyholder experience and be able to demonstrate above all their reliability and conscientiousness, showing pride and passion in their work. Any DIY skills held would be beneficial to the role.

The caretaker role will involve completing a daily open up of the school premises and grounds, which will include a comprehensive health and safety/security premises check prior to school starting, as well as carrying out weekly water flushing and any ad hoc maintenance tasks needed.

The Caretaker role is 52 weeks with 25 days holiday (pro-rata) offered rising to 30 days after 5 years’ service.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We require the successful applicant to undertake an enhanced Criminal Record check via the Disclosure and Barring Service.
