Governance Improvement and Risk Officer

We are looking for a Governance Improvement and Risk Officer to support the Director of Governance with the review and implementation improvements to the governance framework and risk management processes across the organisation. This includes assisting with the design of the governance framework and managing the establishment of the risk management framework, including set up of the executive risk forum for risk review and escalation.
This is a full-time post, although part time hours will be considered. It is office based, with some level of flexibility offered under the organisation’s hybrid working framework.
The postholder will support the Director of Corporate Governance to create a culture of best practice for governance and risk management, by supporting to implement the highest standards within the Governance team. This will require the postholder to be proactive in suggesting and designing effective governance and risk management processes and delivering these in a fast-paced and effective manner.

Work closely with the Director of Corporate Governance to ensure that governance and risk management processes are effective, compliant and accurate;
Excellent working relationships needed within the Governance team;
Work closely with the Executive and senior leadership teams to ensure that the executive risk forum is established, managed and administered effectively and in accordance with the governance and risk management frameworks;
Work with the Board, particularly the Committee Chairs, to support with the meeting structure and to design and implement revised and improved governance processes;
Establish constructive working relationships with a range of internal stakeholders, including senior leaders and departmental heads across the organisation, to support effective governance and risk management;
Work with other stakeholders when required, such as auditors.
