**Student Education Welfare Officer**
**Permanent, Full Time 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year**
**Salary: P20-P35 (£22,376.12- £34,574.28)**
**Campus: City Centre, Bath and Somer Valley, Radstock, with requirement to attend other college venues.**
The post-holder will be committed to a learner-centred approach in their work methods, be flexible and confident with excellent interpersonal skills. They will have a strong commitment to equality and diversity and to working with people who have faced a range of challenges and support needs. They will also need to possess excellent communication, personal organisation, and administrative skills with experience in using IT to maintain comprehensive records.
The post holder will have experience of teaching in the FE sector and will be able to demonstrate a strong knowledge and ability in delivering up to date content on a range of mental health and safeguarding focussed material. This will include a good understanding of the Prevent strategy under the Home Office guidance. In addition, the post holder will have a strong understanding of delivering quality assured content in line with the curriculum and content set out by the curriculum team.
The post-holder will hold and support a caseload of vulnerable learners, delivering a timely and effective service in the capacity of both safeguarding officer and student mentor. The post holder will also take a specific lead on one of the many aspects of safeguarding, mental health and wellbeing faced by college students.
In addition, the post holder will be required to maintain professional and effective relationships with a wide range of internal and external partners, in order to provide solid referral pathways and support mechanisms.
This includes liaising with colleagues and stakeholders from Social Services, Children and Family Services, Avon and Somerset Police, Off the Record and other agencies from a range of different Local Authorities.
