**Description**:
We are currently seeking a Student Retention Officer who will be responsible for designing, delivering and engaging students in a range of student retention activities, initiatives and interventions to help foster a sense of belonging and improve overall student retention and success. This role is central to the development, delivery and improvement of student retention related activities, a key strategic priority within the University.

**About the Role**:
As our Student Retention Officer, you will lead on developing support and resources for vulnerable groups of students, including students who have restarted their studies, to enable them to overcome any barriers and enhance their retention.

Priorities will be to develop processes and procedures and then get stuck into designing, delivering and engaging students in a range of student retention activities.

You will work closely with various colleagues and teams across the University to identify students in need of support and then proactively working with those students to support them in achieving their learning objectives. You will also work closely with Bath Spa London and partner institutions to advise on their retention activity.

**About You**:
As the go to person and referral point for student retention, you will pull upon your previous administrative, student support or customer service experience and your ability to prioritise a busy workload and meet tight deadlines. You will be experienced at taking the lead in resolving difficult and complex scenarios and will demonstrate the ability to deal sensitively with confidential information.

You will also be able to use your own initiative and respond appropriately to situations as they arise. As Student Retention Officer, you will be friendly and approachable and demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly and effectively as you deal with a wide variety of people across the University. You’ll have an eye for detail and ability to work at pace with accuracy, which is essential for written communications and for maintaining student records.

You’ll be keen to learn, to evaluate data and review feedback, to continue developing student retention activities.

Ideally you will have a background in Higher Education, but this is not essential. More importantly you will be an enthusiastic individual with a positive and proactive approach to supporting students in an ever-changing environment. You will possess strong administrative and organisational skills and a flexible can-do attitude.

**Additional Information**:
**Some out of hours working will be required and opportunities for taking annual leave during the months of September and October may be limited.**
