**The role and responsibilities of a Business Development Manager**:
The Business Development Manager will play a lead role in the Commercial function in the acquisition of new customers in line with business strategy and forecast. As well as taking the lead in opportunity qualification and solution design for prospects,the Business Development Manager will also identify and generate leads with targeted business research and outreach. The ability to foster strong relationships with prospects and manage deals through the sales pipeline is key to this role.You will also besupporting the Commercial Bid Manager with the formulation of proposals and bid responses
**Leads and opportunities**:
- To have responsibility for the configuration, administration, reporting and on-going effectiveness of HubSpot.
- To ensure appropriate visibility of the sales pipeline, including Exec reporting.
- To be principle front line support for initial inbound enquiries, both electronic and verbal.
**Demonstrations and Presentations**:
- To take the lead in the demonstration and articulation of the benefits of all components of the AdviserPlus technology portfolio.
- To play a lead role in the presentation of the features and benefits of all aspects of the AdviserPlus proposition.
- To tailor presentation collateral to individual opportunities.
**Other**:
- To represent prospects and the market in internal forums, including on the SLT, the Marketing Strategy Forum, the Solutions Forum and the Product Forums.
- To actively support the preparation of, and where required attendance at, promotions, exhibition events and roadshows.
- To support the development of marketing collateral and campaigns.
**Skills and experience required to be a successful Business Development Manager**:
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Expert presentational skills.
- Excellent engagement and verbal communication skills.
- Thorough and methodical approach with attention to detail.
- Excellent written articulation.
- Ability to operate effectively under pressure and to tight and short-notice deadlines.
- Ability to self-manage effectively.
- Strong project management skills.
- Sound commercial judgment.
Occasional travel to support client/prospect meetings and/or marketing events is required.
