**Job Title:

Planner/Buyer**

**Location(s):

- Basingstoke**

This role reports into the Head of Production to support the buying of materials and components as well as production planning of manufacturing orders required to manufacture and build of capital equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Creating and issuing purchase orders for raw materials, components and sub-contract services
- Review and expedite material shortages with suppliers
- Update and maintain material status
- Creation of Bill of Materials
- Creation of Manufacturing Orders
- Update and maintain Manufacturing Order status
- Review manufacturing capacity and advise whether to manufacture in-house or use external sub-contractors
- Expedite suppliers in regards to late deliveries/shipments and drive the supply chain to hit OTD targets
- Identify material shortages and follow up to minimise production delays
- Work with colleagues within the production control function to introduce LEAN and continuous improvement activities;
- Assist in annual stock take

Skills & Experience:

- Experience in production planning and buying, ideally from a mechanical capital equipment background.
- Have the ability to manage different processes and tasks to achieve an end goal.
- Be self motivated and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Have a proven ability to identify and where possible implement improvements.
- Capable of project generation and managing to achieve cost, time and quality targets.
- Understand the importance of communication throughout all departments, in person where possible.
- Have a general awareness of finance, ie revenue forecasting and budgeting.
- Must be computer literate, familiar and competent with ERP/MRP methodologies.

Educational Qualifications:
Ideal academic level preferred:
Ideally experienced in production planning and buying in a capital equipment manufacturing environment
