**Your day-to-day role**
This position is a key role within the company to provide advice in relation to the fire safety aspects of the design in order to provide confidence that the design that is developed, as well as the completed building, should achieve the expected FCS standard of fire safety, comply with the clients’ objectives and meet all relevant legal fire safety requirements.
- You will have a Batchelors degree or will be a Chartered Engineer in Fire Design or working towards (desirable)
- Excellent understanding of UK legislation, standards and guidance, such as Regulatory Reform (Fire & Safety) Order 2005; HM Government Fire Safety Risk Assessment Guides; The Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999; Building Regulations - Approved Document B; BSI PAS79.
- Membership with a professional fire safety body such as the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) and/or Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM).
- Very good interpersonal skills and demonstrable experience of developing and maintaining close links with colleagues, clients and contractors. Attendance of internal & external design team meetings will be required.
- Have the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, working to deadlines and managing multiple demands.
- Strong IT (Microsoft Office suite) and report writing skills.
- Provide onsite support to clients as required
