**Main Duties**:

- As a Vascular/Gen Med Sonographer, you will be responsible for providing an exceptional ultrasound service, ensuring clinical safety at all times together with high quality patient care.
- Providing an ultrasound service comprising of wholly unsupervised scanning sessions, you will be accountable for your own professional actions and make clinical judgements and critical decisions, using your knowledge, skills and expertise.
- Contributing towards the training in ultrasound of others, as agreed with the Clinical Regional Lead Sonographer.
- Effectively managing the clinic/session, working with the Diagnostic Imaging Assistant to provide a timely and professional service for each patient.
- Maintaining the highest standards of patient care in a safe, clean and tidy working environment, observing all DHC/Trust policies and maintaining exceptional professional and personal standards.

**Requirements of the Sonographer**:

- BSC in Medical Ultrasound or equivalent
- A minimum of 1 year experience in ultrasound
- A valid HCPC Registration a valid RCT Registration
- A full UK Driving Licence
- An excellent knowledge of Ultrasound techniques
- Demonstratable knowledge of the requirements of the Radiographer's role regarding patient care, Health and Safety, and training
- A flexible approach to work
- Exemplary inter-personal and written communication skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- The ability to remain calm when working under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- The ability to maintain exceptional relationships with colleagues in a diverse, dynamic working environment
