Multi Skilled Tradesperson

VIY are looking for experienced trades men and women to delivery both on project work and the mentoring of our young volunteers. With a key focus on carpentry, painting and plumbing.
We are recruiting for this role on a freelance basis to support us on a number of ad-hoc projects across the region.
The role would involve working alongside other mentors and working with a small group of young people on a local community project. We aim to give the young volunteers involved an insight into what it’s like to work in the trades, and help them develop an interest in practical career options in the trades & construction sector.
VIY participants are mentored by professional tradespeople and gain City & Guilds Entry Level 3 accreditation's as well as access to further training, work placement and apprenticeship opportunities with local providers and employers beyond the project.
The starting day rate is up to £120 / £140 a day depending on experience on the tools and mentoring with ongoing opportunities to increase this as you work more with the organization, taking a more leading role in planning and delivering community construction projects.
**Job Type**: Freelance
Pay: £130.00-£140.00 per day
