**Company Description**

Thrive is a technology-led accounting business providing clients with a full finance function service. Based in East Grinstead and serving a London client base, we are best known for our commitment to a purpose beyond profit.

Using Xero as our core accounting platform alongside a range of complementary productivity tools, we work with start-up and scale-up businesses in the technology sector. Our services cover everything clients would need from both an in-house team and an external accountant: from routine tax filings to forecasting & analytics, fin-ops, and carbon accounting.

Thrive was founded by an experienced finance director who wanted to offer an alternative to the commoditised and often disappointing compliance-only service traditionally provided to small businesses.

Our clients view us as proactive, value-adding business advisors and an outsourced finance function, offering near real-time financial reporting and analysis enabled by a modern, cloud-based suite of tools.

One day per week will be dedicated to on-the-job training with us and off-the-job training with an external provider, as you study toward your AAT Level 2 qualification. The remaining four days will be spent working as a Client Finance Assistant (CFA).

Our CFAs ensure we honour our commitments to each other and our clients. They provide consistent delivery, allowing our Client Managers to focus on client needs and the overall quality of our service.

Working across a portfolio of forward-thinking clients, the CFA will:

- Perform daily bookkeeping updates in various Xero accounts
- Use Dext Prepare for efficiency and Dext Precision for accuracy
- Collate and send client queries weekly
- Act as a key point of contact and representative of Thrive

In addition to bookkeeping, some clients have bespoke needs including:

- Preparing payment runs
- Importing and reconciling e-commerce transactions
- Updating sales and purchase ledgers

With a variety of responsibilities across a diverse client base and a strong focus on utilising the latest software, this is an ideal opportunity for someone starting in finance and accounting.

**Client Communications**

Prompt responses to client enquiries are essential. In fact, poor responsiveness from their previous accountant is often the number one reason clients come to us.

We aim to be better and stay better, as we grow. Nothing is more important than looking after our clients, regardless of the challenges.

**How an in-house role works**

Given the nature of the role and our cloud-based tools, there’s some flexibility in how the working week is structured. While this isn’t a fully home-based role, occasional home working is possible. Similarly, working hours can be arranged to accommodate other life commitments, such as school hours.

Pay: £20,000.00 per year
