Our client is a fantastic retail business based in Chorley. The business are now looking to recruit a Purchase Ledger/Accounts Assistant to join them on a permanent basis. You must be pro-active, keen to learn, able to use your initiative and excellent communication skills

**Responsibilities include**:

- Purchase Ledger - processing high volume invoices through accounts system
- Matching invoices to GRN's, checking for shortages and inputting onto correct supplier account
- Processing overhead invoices and distributing to correct team for full authorisation
- Reconciling supplier statements monthly - reporting on anomalies
- Preparing BACS payments and remittances on a weekly/monthly basis
- Posting to cash book and allocating cash
- Nominal journal & petty cash reconciliations
- Balancing ledger at month end - assisting wider finance team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Team-player with good verbal and written communication skills
- High levels of data accuracy and attention to detail
- Some previous experience working in an Accounts position or strong numerical skills with the desire to develop and learn
- Sound knowledge of purchase ledger processes would be advantageous
