Junior Clinical Fellow Same Day Emergency Care

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of Junior Clinical Fellow within our Medical Same Day Emergency Care at The Royal Oldham Hospital.
- You will be an integral part of the Medical Same Day Emergency Care Team at the Oldham Care Organisation, working alongside an experienced team of clinicians. The post holder will complement existing services through the provision of specialist knowledge & expertise in Same Day Emergency Care. The post holder is therefore required to have full registration with the General Medical Council & a valid licence to practice.
**Main duties of the job**:
The unit offers a comprehensive range of ambulatory services to include Doppler/DVT clinics, IV therapies, out-patient investigation and follow up.
The main duties of the role will be but not limited to:
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, to provide medical care to patients referred to the Medical Same Day Emergency Care unit
- To clinically assess patients, request and review investigations, plan and implement patient care including safe discharge and provide good communication with families and carers.
- To provide therapeutic interventions as necessary
- To supervise and support medical and allied professional trainees
- To provide medical advice and leadership to the team

**Essential criteria**:
- Full registration with the General Medical Council & a valid License to Practice with the General Medical Council
- Primary medical qualification (eg. MBChB, MBBS)
- Evidence of achievement of Foundation experience or equivalent competencies within medicine.
- Evidence of completion ALS
**Desirable criteria**:
- Completion of post graduate qualification
**Knowledge, Skills, Training & Experience**:
**Essential criteria**:
- Relevant experience in other specialties that would complement a career in Same Day Emergency Care
- Knowledge of the workings of the NHS.
- Good organisational skills and time management.
- Use of evidence based practice.
- Participation in audit. Understanding of clinical governance.

- Teaching achievement (including attendance at teaching courses, etc)
