**Your Impact**:
Our Newcastle Transport Planning team is one of the most successful in the UK & Ireland, with a varied client base and strong pipeline of work. We have forged a diverse project portfolio, supporting key clients in our local North East market as well as representing key delivery partners for projects and clients across the UK and more recently across the globe.
- Task/project management and overseeing day to day project teams
- Commercial awareness and understanding of key risks
- Develop suitable technical methodologies for projects that meet relevant guidance or criteria
- Leverage any existing client relationships to further diversify our client portfolio
- Support in sales activities and key pursuits

You will have the support of a line manager and our experts to guide your progress and will have an opportunity to share your skills and knowledge by training and supporting our junior staff. You will also be given the ability to pursue relevant business and technical training to support your career development as well as the freedom to grow your network and develop innovative solutions to chase new opportunities.

**Here’s What You’ll Need**:

- A creative, solution-oriented individual, with a strong technical background, solid understanding transport planning first principles and demonstrable experience
- In-depth knowledge / understanding of modelling and appraisal guidance, data requirements and/or the interpretation of modelling results
- Experience providing technical leadership, successfully managing projects and acting in a client-facing capacity
- Robust written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues concisely
- Flexibility to manage diverse workload, assist with new business opportunities and embrace emerging technologies, product solutions and the future evolution of the industry

Ideally, here’s what you’ll also have:

- Broader transport planning experience, with understanding of wider policy and strategy, assessment and appraisal techniques
- Agility to work across different project types and be prepared to accommodate new and innovative approaches
- Comfortable inferring outputs and conclusions from datasets, liaising with clients and determining the right way forward
- Line management and technical mentoring experience

**Education/ Qualifications**
- Chartered Engineer / Transport Planner or working towards Chartered status with membership of a relevant professional institution.
