From preparing the business case and advising on related issues - such as revenue, procurement, and environmental legislation - to delivering the completed infrastructure and helping maintain it. Our planning, engineering, environmental and management skills cover the whole project cycle. We play a major role in developing and delivering the Global Transport Sector Strategy.Overview Of The RoleWe are looking to expand our transport planning team in the North West and North East of the UK, and are looking for a Transport Planner to support our capability to deliver high quality, cost effective and tailored solutions to our public and private sector clients.You will be involved in a range of high profile and challenging projects for clients such as National Grid, Royal Mail, Anglian Water, Manchester Airports Group, Yorkshire Wildlife Park, Local Authorities and NHS Trusts and will become an integral member of the team, providing technical inputs and support to internal project managers and external client customers.The role will be challenging and varied and will offer great opportunities for the development of technical and personal skills and career development through the training support we provide towards achieving a professional qualification.Key Responsibilities And Duties IncludeAssessing the impacts of developmentsDeveloping and commissioning transport surveysAnalysing transport data, and presenting the findingsScoping and producing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans Construction Traffic Management Plans, Servicing and Delivery Plans and other similar documentationAssisting the provision of technical advice in relation to feasibility proposals for developmentsTransport modelling and appraisalDiscrete junction modellingSupporting the preparation of tender submissions and proposalsEvaluating the outcomes of projectsCandidate specificationEssentialA Degree in a Transport Planning related subject (eg Transport Planning, Engineering, Geography, Mathematics, Town Planning, Science) or an equivalent and relevant qualificationA genuine interest in Transport Planning and relevant post-graduate experience of Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans and other similar documentationExperience of commissioning or supporting appropriate data gathering exercisesExperience of some industry standard junction assessment or transport modelling software packagesHigh levels of numeracy and the ability to produce clear, concise and logical written and verbal communicationA practical approach to problem solving and the ability to adapt and work both independently and as part of a teamDesirablePrivate Sector background but have experience of supporting projects that dealt with Local Authority and Public Sector clientsExperience of managing elements of projects, potentially including the delivery of internal projects for their employerThe ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff up to a Senior levelUK ImmigrationMott MacDonald Ltd. are not currently offering sponsorship to candidates under the Skilled Worker visa route in the UK.
