We are recruiting for an Organisational Strategy Consultant to help support organisation design change across our business.

This is an exciting opportunity to work at M&S COO level, providing OD support to the Clothing & Home, International and Bank & Services accountable businesses, as well as our Group-wide D&D Function.

**Key accountabilities**
- Scan OD Trends and brings new OD insights to M&S
- Work to understand the business and its strategy and the implications on M&S, our customers and our colleagues
- Support the development of organisation design and operating model solutions that enable strategy execution, including e.g. clarifying future capability requirements, recommended high-level structures, design of aligned critical metrics and governance and articulation of desired decision-making rights and ways of working
- Contribute to the development of clear and compelling written presentations and papers that support senior decision-making on organisation design at M&S
- Analyse commercial and organisational data to support organisation design decision-making, providing analysis to the OD team as required
- Support Organisational Strategy Managers to develop the content of agreed organisation design solutions that enable delivery of our transformation portfolio
- Work with Transformation Programme teams to develop new organisation structures
- Contribute to detailed organisation design solutions e.g. for a specific Function or Business Unit), working with HR, Finance, Transformation and other colleagues to develop detailed OD outputs
- Support HR and Change teams to document the implementation plan for new OD solutions, helping with handover to the change impact, workforce transition and partner engagement activities required to implement
- Contribute to development of OD tools that support effective decision-making. This may include e.g. documenting our current operating model for Clothing & Home, International, Bank and D&D or helping to build a capability map that defines the key building blocks of the COO organisation

**Key experience**
**Essential**
- Experience in the design and delivery of OD in Retail, Consumer or other Private Sector industries, ideally from within a top-tier management consulting organisation
- Strong analytical skills
- Openness to learn further about OD and willingness to get ‘stuck in’
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Intellectually curious, high energy and resilient

**Desirable**
- Comfortable with working in a fast paced, complex and ambiguous context
- Some knowledge of function and department processes and the front/ back office flow of work in a Retailer
- Experience working in project delivery roles
- Project Management and administration skills
- Experience working in cross function business change projects
