Marketing and Communications Officer

We are working with a globally recognised organisation in Canterbury, to resource for a Marketing and Communications Officer, who will be responsible for:
- a range of marketing and communications activity to help increase engagement and to grow visitor numbers and visitor income;
- undertaking targeted marketing campaigns, be responsible for the social media channels, maintain and update content on the website;
- overseeing internal communications;
- assisting with press visits and filming requests;
- design, proof and produce engaging content within the brand guidelines, including e-newsletters, adverts, flyers, booklets, and posters
Salary up to £26,000/annum (depending on experience) for a 40 hour week, with holiday entitlement for a full year at 25 days, plus public holidays. Employer contribution pension after three months continuous service.
Amongst other duties, you will be responsible for: undertaking targeted online and offline marketing campaigns (i.e. search, social, radio, Out of Home); producing end of campaign reports to demonstrate the performance and ROI of activity; maintaining andupdating content on the website, especially the online Events Calendar; assist with the management and coordination of media interest and attendance at major events and services (including preparing and supporting staff being interviewed); researching, writingand distributing compelling press releases and operational notes to targeted media; taking and editing photographs and, ideally, video - for online and print purposes; ensuring excellent value for money (eg, when sourcing print quotes or booking advertising).
- Degree level education or equivalent experience.
- At least 2 years' experience in a marketing, communications, PR, design or events role or similar.
- GCSE English and Maths at Grade C or equivalent.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrable experience of using social media for corporate communications and audience engagement.
- Highly experienced using a CMS to edit and maintain an organisation's website.
- Proven experience of managing effective marketing/ advertising campaigns and of producing end-of-campaign reports.
- Demonstrable experience of creating engaging and impactful marketing and communications materials - within brand - including adverts, e-newsletters, news stories and press releases.
