Prestigious financial services company is looking for a Networks Manager to join them on a permanent basis. You will take ownership of both the day-to-day operation and continued development of their networking and telephony infrastructure, and take responsibilityfor information security governance within Technology. Initially, the role will be 40% hands-on, 40% team management, 20% strategic - the hands on element will decrease after over the next 6-12 months.
**Role Responsibilities**:
- Manage **networking and telephony** services operationally
- Day-to-day management of the Networks team, including **line management**.
- Continuously improve the quality and efficiency of the services provided by Networks team, with a **real focus on automation, integration and efficient delivery.**:
- Establish and **maintain a roadmap** for the continuous improvement of networking and telephony platforms
- Intially Hands-on technical to assist with workload (40%) and become less so over the next year
- Identify and build relationships with key consumer groups across Technology, to ensure networking and telephony services are positioned to enable their objectives
- Develop the Networks and Security team to ensure it has the right skills, competencies and experience to succeed, ensuring that every member of the team has an agreed development plan.
- Ensure the operations are well governed, that operational procedures and standards are well documented, and records are maintained appropriately for a regulated environment.
- Proactively work with architecture teams to ensure networking and telephony platforms are developed in line with the wider technology strategy.
- **Manage multiple supplier relationships** to ensure suppliers consistently achieve the expected levels of service.
- Proactively identify and manage operational risks, ensure that they are recorded in the operational risk log and mitigating actions are agreed.
- Manage the operational budget for the Networks & Security team.
- Foster and reward behaviors associated with a **high performing culture** within your team.
**Skills and experience required**:
- Experience of managing the delivery of critical IT infrastructure services, in a regulated business.
- Strong line management experience, including team development plans, etc
- Strong understanding of network and telephony infrastructure and systems (Cisco, Juniper, IaC, Cloud (AWS, Azure), Virtualisation technologies
- Experience of managing suppliers to ensure they consistently meet their commitments and deliver a high standard of service.
- Good experience of working closely with Director/C-level stakeholders.
- Previous responsibility for budgets of circa £1 million.
- A passion for technology and for delivering excellent service.
