**WINTER GRITTING OPERATOR - SOUTHWEST**

**THE ROLE**

We are looking for a motivated, and methodical Winter Gritting Operator to join our Winter Department on a temporary basis on a fixed-term zero-hour contract for the duration of the winter period, from the 20th of October 2025 to the 1st of April 2026. The salary for the position is £35 per hour.
- **Time and type of work**:Duties include night and day driving and manual labour work when required.
- **Daily operations**:Conduct salt gritting operations for sites within the Erlestoke, Calne, Chippenham and Frome regions.
- ** Maintain salt piles**:Ensure salt piles are covered at all times.
- ** Equipment**: A vehicle, equipment, and training will be provided.

**ABOUT YOU**

To be successful in the role, you are to possess the below knowledge and skills.

Essential:

- Be honest, enthusiastic, and able to undertake physical work and driving duties mainly at night.
- Possess a full UK driving licence.
- Be available to work between the hours of (16:00 00:00)
- Able to carry out heavy physical labour.
- Be able to carry out basic roadside repairs.
- Be a hard worker and a problem solver.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and be able to self-manage.
- Have the right to work in the UK and consent to obtaining a DBS check (reimbursed by the Company).

Desirable:

- Previous skills and knowledge in a similar role may be highly advantageous.
