Our client is a financial services specialist, providing mortgages and savings to their customers. They have a new opportunity to join their Arrears team, delivering a high standard of customer care by dealing with financial difficulties sympatheticallyand positively, and working closely with the Arrears Manager to ensure Customer and Process Excellence across the team. Our clients head office is based in Essex, however they offer a very flexible approach to the working week. There will be some need for office presence, so being within commuting distance of Essex is essential. Key duties of the Senior Arrears Officer will be: - Liaison with customers with mortgage arrears to develop a plan for dealing with their financial difficulties and clearing the arrears, consistent with both the customers' interests and the commercial interests delivering a "best in class" service - Monitoring and ensuring adherence to negotiated payment plans. - Managing customers >3m in arrears/complex cases and make recommendations to the Arrears Manager if no cure found - Negotiating with the customer any capitalisation of arrears within the terms of the Policy and Procedures. - Instructing and liaising with External Agents to conduct arrears visits to counsel the borrower in order to come to an arrangement with the borrower to bring the account up to date - Preparing forbearance reviews and documentation for the Solicitors to commence possession proceedings with a view to obtaining an Order from the Court - Preparing forbearance reviews and documentation for the Solicitors to instruct our Receiver The successful individual will possess: - Prior experience within mortgage arrears - Excellent customer service and relationship building skills
