Due to continued growth, the Supply Chain Manager at this global aerospace business is looking to attract into his team a proactive Buyer who enjoys building strong relationships with suppliers.

As Buyer, typical responsibilities will be to:
- Proactively identify purchasing requirements.
- Manage cost optimization, thorough supplier negotiation.
- Source the most cost-effective supplier of product form a global network of existing vendors or introduction of new suppliers.
- Control of inbound supply - ensuring excellent supplier delivery performance is maintained.
- Maintain optimum inventory levels through excellent planning to minimize risk.
- Raise Purchase orders in ERP to meet specific customer quality requirements.
- Expedite deliveries to customers' needs, communicating delays to appropriate parties.
- Support international branches by managing transfers of goods between sites.

The successful Buyer will:
- Have purchasing experience gained in a fast-paced environment.
- Have excellent negotiation skills.
- Have the ability to build strong business relationships.
- Have excellent organisation skills.
- Strong data analysis ability.
- A high level of numeracy and accuracy - a good attention to detail
- Excellent IT Skills - a proficient use of all Microsoft products, especially Excel

On offer:
- £35,000 salary
- 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays
- 5% bonus
- Monday to Friday 8.45am - 5.15pm, early finish on a Friday
