We are currently recruiting to a new and exciting role of a Personal Tutor which will sit within Student Experience and work closely in supporting students.

As a Personal Tutor, you will play a key role in delivering effective pastoral care to your assigned cohort of students and ensure they make significant progress on their course/study programme to meet their learning goals. The Personal Tutor will also contribute and deliver on weekly tutor sessions to designated tutor groups inline with the Colleges Personal Development Programme aswell as running weekly study/coursework support sessions and complete 1:1’s with learners.

The role would be suitable for individual who is interested in a teaching career or a step up from a student support role. We have various position available from 15-37 hours per week and up to 40 weeks per an academic year.

**Other responsibilities of the role include**:

- Support students with change of course/study programme
- Monitor progress of each student in allocated cohort, paying particular attention to any gaps in relation to those in receipt of bursary, free college meals etc
- Monitor attendance data of each student in tutorial cohort and ensure that attendance issues are challenged
- Conduct effective 1:1s with students to support them with their attendance, progress and ensuring that they are reviewing and working to targets set by staff
- Liaise with teaching/lecturing staff proactively to ensure that any issues surrounding student progress is addressed
- Liaise with parents/carers in relation to issues impacting on student progress and achievement
- Provide initial health and wellbeing support for students, ensuring effective referrals to the health and wellbeing team
- Provide initial safeguarding support for students, ensuring effective referrals to the safeguarding team
- Attend Faculty meetings to discuss progress of students and actions required to support
