Reporting to the Head of Planning and Portfolio Management, the Portfolio Analyst provides support around the co-ordination
and reporting of the organisation’s change portfolio.

PURPOSE OF ROLE:
To drive the effective delivery of the organisation’s strategy through the co-ordination of portfolio, programme and project
management activities across the organisation. You will work collaboratively on the maintenance of programme and project
documentation and produce regular and insightful reports on the change portfolio, giving leaders the information they need to
make great decisions. You’ll also support the wider change team to drive a high performance culture focussed on excellent
customer service, continuous improvement and innovation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Consolidate programme and project reports to give a top-line view of progress across the change portfolio
- Produce engaging, visual representations of the portfolio, ensuring a common understanding of corporate priorities,
dependencies and timelines
- Proactively track progress against plans to ensure milestones are adhered to and raise to the Head of Planning and
Portfolio Management if any are at risk
- Support the maintenance of programme and project documentation, such as highlight reports, business cases and project
initiation documentation
- Carry out and present analysis of data relating to the return on investment generated by the portfolio
- Support the production and maintenance of resource plans for project activity
- Provide support to project managers, acting as a junior PM on projects where required
- Support the organisation and facilitation of meetings, including taking and circulating accurate minutes and actions
- Act as portfolio librarian, ensuring documents are appropriately versioned, stored and logged in one place
- Provide wider administration support to the team as required
- Champion transparency and collaboration in all change activity

Person Specification
QUALIFICATIONS & PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS:
- Educated to degree level and/or relevant experience
- Foundation level project management / project office qualification such as Prince2, P30 or equivalent (desirable)
- Qualified to minimum GCSE grade C or equivalent in English and maths
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Demonstrates a high-level understanding of portfolio, programme and project management
- Experience of working in a project or business change environment
- Experience of writing project / programme reports
- Excellent organisational skills
- Exceptional collaboration and relationship development and management skills including the
confidence to effectively challenge others where appropriate
- Excellent communication skills and ability to provide clear, concise reports for non-technical
audiences
- Attention to detail, an analytical ability to help propose solutions to problems and
appropriately prioritise activities
- An ability to see and explain the bigger picture and how the change portfolio fits into the
wider corporate environment
- Ability to complete tasks in an accurate and timely manner when working under pressure
- Excellent influencing skills and the ability to motivate, inspire and provide assurance to others
- Attention to detail
- Good written and verbal communication
- Effective liaison with staff/other stakeholders to give information/find information/resolve
problems
- Organisation and ability to time-manage work load
