**Overview**
As a Speech and language Specialist in London, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of others in the area. You'll work in various healthcare and social care settings across London as a Medicare People Speech and Language Specialist, providing high-quality, advanced support to individuals who require assistance due to factors such as age, illness, or disability.
We have a number of Speech and Language Specialist shifts available across different settings in London.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Assess and diagnose speech, language, and communication difficulties, as well as swallowing disorders.
- Develop and implement tailored therapy and treatment plans.
- Provide therapy on a one-to-one basis and in group settings.
- Support patients in developing communication strategies that promote independence and quality of life.
- Collaborate with families, carers, schools, and healthcare professionals to deliver holistic care.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and produce professional reports.
- Educate and train carers, teachers, and other staff on communication and swallowing strategies.
- Stay up to date with best practices, research, and regulatory standards.
**Requirements**:
- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
- Registration with HCPC (or relevant professional body).
- Experience in assessing and treating speech, language, and communication difficulties (paediatric and/or adult caseloads).
- Knowledge of a wide range of therapy approaches and interventions.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to engage effectively with patients and families.
- Organisational and time management skills to handle varied caseloads.
