Volunteer Group Coordinator (Reach Project)
**SALARY**:
£ 22,183 to £24,920 pro rata (based on 35 hours per week + pension contribution
**HOURS**:
35 hours per week.
Part time or job share will be considered

- **JOB PURPOSE**
To lead and oversee the brokerage and facilitation of volunteering opportunities and peer support activities and groups for individuals who are assessed as having a severe and enduring mental health need. This will enable individuals to regain confidence, develop social connections and engage with activities in their local community.
- **PRIMARY DUTIES & AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY**:
- To deliver volunteer training for peers support volunteers, covering a range of elements (including Safeguarding, Confidentiality and Health and Safety
- To, induct, support, supervise and work with volunteers (who have come through the service) to ensure that they feel confident to deliver peer support activities, befriending
- To manage, support and supervise the volunteer co-ordinator
- Use motivational and behaviour change techniques to help individuals identify their strengths, develop personal plans with achievable goals that lead to improved health and wellbeing.
- To plan and deliver one off taster and short term peer support group based activities
- To liaise with a range of services, internally and externally to identify appropriate community based provision and signposting if required for onward referrals.
- To develop partnerships with a range of stakeholders to create and support new / appropriate volunteering opportunities.
- To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure individuals receive coordinated wraparound support to meet multiple needs.
- To utilise local and national health messaging materials to promote ongoing self-care methods.
- To adhere to the HALE’s policies and procedures including, Safeguarding, Data Protection and Confidentiality and Equality and Diversity in all aspects of the work.
- To undertake risk assessments for volunteers and community based activities to identify and take steps to reduce potential risks for volunteers and other stakeholders.
- To carry out such other appropriate tasks, as required to meet the aims and objectives of the organisation.
**Monitoring and Evaluation**
- To collect, collate and maintain data on referrals, interventions and outcomes using a range of platforms such as MyMUP digital and Systm One
- Work with the wider Reach colleagues to produce reports and case studies for monitoring and evaluation of services.
- **PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT**:
- Actively participate in supervision with the Healthy Communities Programme Lead
- Actively participate internal team meetings and partner meetings as required
- Undertake training to support continued professional development and fulfil mandatory/role specific training to enhance your skills and knowledge.
- **SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS**:
- Travel around the Bradford District and to regional and national locations (if required)
- Flexible, hybrid working opportunities with occasional working of early evenings and weekends.

- Educated to good level with qualifications / 5 or more GCSEs
- At least 2 years’ experience in a community development/health development role.
- Peer support qualification
- A training qualification / experience of running training courses
- Mental Health First Aid
- Motivational Interviewing
- Trauma Informed Practices
