**Mechanical Support Engineer**

**Position overview**:
As the NW Mechanical Support Engineer you will report to the Mechanical Engineering Manager and lead the engine servicing, strip downs and rebuilds in the NW region whilst also working closely with the local FSE’s in terms of support to facilitate upskillingand improving the quality of work and competency of the work force.

You will be expected to demonstrate the appropriate behaviours and commitment towards health and safety to ensure we maintain our first-class safety culture.

**Key responsibilities**:
Follow Company Health & Safety policies ensuring compliance in line with Health & Safety legislation

Install and commission gas reciprocating engines

Complete major service routines on gas reciprocating engines

Lead outages and engineering projects as directed by the Mechanical Engineering Manager

Provide technical expertise to support the operations department

Participate in Reliability and Criticality studies

Carry out engineering audits of operational sites

Provide training to operational staff on various OEM engines

Anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner and identify areas for improvement

Review the operation of plant equipment and systems to minimise downtime

Complete maintenance activities via CMMS using and recording of spare parts

Complete general housekeeping activities

Interact with other departments both internally and externally when required

Support and comply with Company Policies as documented in the Conditions of Employment Policies Manual

**Essential**

An HNC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering is required

Significant experience gained from an on the tools mechanical field operations role covering multiple site locations is essential

Experience of maintaining and operating gas reciprocating engines is a must

Competency with Microsoft Office, Excel and Word is required

Experience gained directly from the power generation or process industries is preferred

Commissioning experience would be ideal

Electrical and controls field operations experience would be advantageous

Experience of Jenbacher engines would be beneficial

A full UK driving licence is required

Right to work in the UK is essential

The Mechanical Support Engineer will be hands on professional who is able to work co-operatively within a company-wide team environment and able to thrive in demanding high-pressured situations. The role will require excellent communication, and problem-solvingskills
