**Shift pattern for Mechanical Maintenance Engineer; Mornings, Afternoons and Nights rotating on a 3 week shift pattern. 1 Saturday in 3 included on Mornings week. Week 1; 5 x 9 hr night shifts Monday - Friday. Week 2; 5 x 8hr afternoon shifts Monday
- Friday. Week 3; 5 x 7hr morning shifts Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri, Sat.**
We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a worldwide Heavy Engineering company based in Sheffield. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well established and well known Sheffield based company. Due to their continued success they have a requirementfor a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to cover the mechanical operational requirements of the plant.**
**As Mechanical Maintenance Engineer you will be working in a small Mechanical team on each shift and be reporting into the Mechanical Operations Engineer. To be a successful team member you will have experience with dealing with a wide range of mechanicalfaults and must be able to respond to situation's quickly and effectively. Daily duties and responsibilities will include:

- Mechanical maintenance of overhead DC and AC cranes.
- Fault finding on hydraulics, pneumatics to component level.
- Maintenance of the mechanical plant.
- Use of engineering drawings to identify faults, resolve problems on plant.
- Monitoring and maintenance of specific defined plant to meet legislation.
- Optimising preventative maintenance programs.
- Shop work / bench fitting, building and refurbishment of spares and plant equipment.
- Burning and basic welding skills required.
- Assist in Production changeovers as required.
- Written reports detailing the activities during shift.
- Reacting to breakdown requirements to safely and promptly rectifying faults to minimise any Production downtime.
- React quickly and effective to breakdowns on a range of plant equipment.
- Interpret technical Engineering drawings.
- Work with hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Have a strong background within Mechanical Engineering with a Heavy Engineering plant.
- Maintain good housekeeping and standards in own work area and out on plant.
- Adhere to all and any safety related legislation relevant to operations and mechanical maintenance.
- Able to work fully autonomously and make decisions on own.
- Knowledge and competence in Permit to Work systems.

Qualifications of successful Mechanical Maintenance Engineer:

- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
- Time served Mechanical apprentice or equivalent
