UKRI has a corporate policy on Equality and Diversity which is supported by a Diversity Forum and implementation group. **About the Role** We now have opportunities for two HPC System Administrators to join the Technical Solutions and Operations Group. We are looking for team players with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who can work effectively with all stakeholders including colleagues and users of our services. We operate a service desk according to ITIL best practice and the role will include providing "Level 2" support on a shared rota basis to the service desk working alongside colleagues from Level 1 support. Experience with ITSM tools, especially ServiceNow, would be an advantage. **Responsibilities will include**: - Performing routine system administration tasks including monitoring, tuning, hardware fault detection and resolution - Providing Level 2 support on a shared rota basis to the local service desk - Ensuring incident tickets are resolved or escalated within SLA targets - Providing appropriate training to members of the Level 1 Support activity - Timely delivery of project work to specification and within budget - Automation, deployment and monitoring of services - Creating and maintaining accurate documentation of procedures and configurations - Maintaining documentation and training materials for colleagues and customers - Maintaining secure shift log records of activity - Advocating best practice and new or revised technical procedures to colleagues - Providing mentoring support to other members of the group - Ensuring adherence to local and corporate Information Security policy and best practice - Actively seeking out and addressing Information Security risks - Working effectively within, and developing solutions that comply with, the Hartree Centre systems architecture, local group policies and change management procedure - Delivering training to colleagues or customers [Band E] - Multi-disciplinary technical project management [Band E] - Designing and deploying new services via formal change management [Band E] - Providing escalated support to colleagues and other users of Hartree services [Band E] - Maintaining and developing existing services in response to changes in business need [Band E].
