**Senior Virtualisation Engineer - VMware - HYBRID WORKING**

One of our biggest customers is actively looking for a Senior Virtualisation Engineer with extensive VMware experience.This position is a fantastic opportunity for someone to join a well known and trusted Financial institution at a time of massive growth.

**Role Purpose**

The role will ensure that infrastructure included within projects is fit for purpose, scalable, extendable and cost effective in line with larger business and architecture strategy. It also encompasses and contributes to all business and project deliverables.

The job holder will provide technical leadership to a team of infrastructure SME’s delivering effective, reliable IT services and solutions which satisfy customer needs and priorities. The job holder must be forward thinking and pro-actively seek opportunitiesto improve processes in order to deliver operational efficiencies and business benefit.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Design, implement and oversee the IT infrastructure hardware and software components in compliance with the architecture roadmap and based on feasibility checks
- Monitor the IT market and technological trends in the specific area, recommend future technology direction and emerging technologies that will enhance the clients operating efficiency and support enhanced customer service
- Ensure compliance and quality of the respective specifications and guidelines of the company and legislation (e.g. security, service definitions)
- Maintain and optimize the relevant system, ensure performance and availability and provide release and patch management

**Key Requirements/Skills/Experience**
- **Knowledge of common IT process landscape management and standards**:

- **VMware 6-8**:

- **Storage experience - NetApp**:

- **Virtualisation architecture experience - undestanding how systems impact on each other**:

- **Experienced in IT architecture management and IT security tools**:

- ITIL certification required
- Possessing project and IT service management skills, analytical thinking skills, methodological and conceptual skills
- Relevant work experience in system engineering in the area of responsibility (e.g. network, server, security, databases etc.)
- Ability to carry out tasks independently in non-standardized (ever-changing) work situations
- Competence to exchange complex information with diplomatic tact and to cooperate with a diverse internal and external audience
