Job Title: Weekend Support Worker

Typical shifts are possibly: Saturday and Sunday - 8am - 4pm, 9am - 5pm, 2pm - 10pm.

Pay rate: £12.65

Organisation Context

YMCA Worcestershire is committed to supporting all young people, particularly in times of need. Our vision is to enable people to live, learn and share to help build a brighter future. We are a registered social landlord providing housing and supported housing services to young people and a range of community and other services at a variety of locations.

We manage a number of accommodation settings within Worcestershire, with varying levels of support provided. Your role will be based at our supported housing site at Gordon Anstis House in Redditch, which houses 52 16-25 year olds. You will help support our young people, as they learn the essential life skills they need to be able to move on positively and live independently.

**Responsibilities**:

- Support our young people in organised sessions and ad-hoc situations, helping them move towards being ready to live independently.
- To understand the impact of trauma on our young people and work in a trauma-informed way.
- Understand and value the needs of our young people.
- Be a caring and trusted professional who can motivate and encourage our young people to succeed.
- Be able to be calm and de-escalate challenging behaviour and situations.
- To be aware of and work with partner agencies to ensure the best support is in place for our young people.
- Work as part of a team.
- Carry out risk assessments and prioritise safeguarding of our young people, keeping them safe from harm.
- Be accountable, reflective, passionate, empowering and caring.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.65 per hour

Expected hours: 16 per week
