**Opportunity for a veterinary surgeon with a keen interest in surgery to take a step up in their career within an non-for-profit small animal hospital**
If you are a small animal vet with a passion for surgery and are looking for the opportunity to take your passion in this area to the next level, then the perfect opportunity has come up within a tier 3 hospital in Shrewsbury. We are looking for a surgical team leader to join a team of experienced and friendly colleagues at a state-of-the-art hospital in the lovely County of Shropshire.
You'll have real freedom over the department and will be responsible for theatre management, working with the nurses to efficiently organise theatre lists, maintaining a high surgical standard including theatre sterility and hygiene, purchasing decisions of theatre equipment in line with budgets, managing pre and post-operative processes and liaise with other department leads to drive forward the overall success of the business.
The successful applicant will ideally be someone with a surgical bias and will have either completed a surgery certificate or be happy to be put through a certificate with full funding and support. Previous management experience is also advantageous but is not a requirement as again full support will be provided.
This is a truly unique opportunity to join a non-for-profit business which seeks to make the best vet care affordable to all. What this means is that you'll see proportionally more sick pets than other vet groups. If you want a surgical bias but don't see enough cases, this will work for you'll see more emergency than preventative care cases.

**Key Skills, Qualifications and Client Requirements**
- You must have the right to work in the UK
- You must be registered with the RCVS to practice in the UK
- Ideally you will have a keen interest in surgery either have a certificate in this area or be happy to be put through a certificate with support and funding from the practice
- Excellent communication and organisational skills and enjoy working with and motivating a team. (previous management experience is not essential as full training and support will be given
