At the NHS, we are reminded every day of how important life is. As a flexible working friendly organisation, we want to be sure that you can work in a way that is best for us and for our patients, and for you. Speak to us about how we might be able to accommodate a flexible working arrangement whether that’s job share, part time or another flexible pattern. In addition, although the role advertised may have a ‘home’ office base indicated, we remain committed to supporting flexibility around workplace locations. If it works for the service, we will do our best to make it work for you.
**Psychology Inpatient Recruitment Advert**
It is an exciting time to join our inpatient service psychology team in Cornwall. A recent significant investment in psychology provision and a commitment to clinical quality and excellence, has led to the creation of new psychology posts, including a new leadership structure across the county.
We are looking for 3 x 1 WTE Band 7/8a HCPC registered Practitioner Psychologists (Clinical/Forensic/Counselling) to work within our **acute inpatient **mental health services to not only support the clinical needs of our service users but also to support wider strategic developments of the service and staff teams.
To support the clinical leadership of these roles, we are looking for one Band 8b Clinical Lead post, in the first instance.
Your clinical expertise, training and experience will be valued, together with a commitment to supporting your career development and progression, with ongoing learning opportunities. Due to our commitment to your professional growth, we are developing a career progression model in which our 8a psychology staff rotate between differing inpatient environments every two years. Following a full rotation, further career pathways and opportunities, such as the Mental Health Act Approved / Responsible Clinician training pathway become available. This provides a framework through which we can meaningfully reward our talented psychology team, should they want to progress within the profession whilst maintaining a clinical leadership role. As a department we are also keen to support clinical associate psychologists, assistant psychologists, trainee psychologists and psychology interns.
The Trust has a clear management and supervision structure that is led by a Head of Psychological Professions, who is also part of the Trust’s Senior Management Team. Inpatient services are supported by a lead Consultant Psychologist as well as a Consultant Psychologist working as an Approved/Responsible Clinician. Clinical Psychologists are currently employed in the Low Secure Unit (Bowman) and the Rehabilitation Unit (Fettle).
There will be additional investment in psychology services in the next few years via the Transformation of Community Mental Health services, which will bring further opportunities for career development within the Trust.
An advert can only tell you so much, so if you are interested in this post and feel that you have the skills and passion for this work that we are looking for, please get in touch and we will happily fill in the gaps. We are keen to talk with you
**Contact Details**:
