We are more than 121,000 professionals working in multidisciplinary teams with profiles as diverse as financiers, legal experts, data scientists, developers, engineers and designers. **About the job**: The Relationship Manager is responsible for business development and relationship management activities with global clients, with emphasis on originating business and generating cross selling opportunities based on BBVA’s product capabilities in Europe and BBVA's global network. Works with Portfolio and Risk Management Group, and product partners from Global Markets, Corporate Lending and Trade Finance to facilitate overall customer relationship management and cross selling. **Major/Essential Job Duties**: - Leads relationships with the clients and leads or co-ordinates relationships with their subsidiaries by generating ideas, proposing product solutions and pricing. - Leads negotiation of contracts with clients and leads or participates in project implementation teams in cooperation with other product / country teams. - Undertakes all required steps to onboard clients, eg "know your customer" process and to approve transactions in BBVA business committees. - Reviews and analyses financial statements, credit data, company announcements and guidance. - Works with the Risk teams and Bank committees as needed in order to extend new credit lines / maintain BBVA ́s financial exposure / limits for a particular client. - Reviews, analyses and evaluates actual and potential global returns both for specific client transactions as well as overall profitability of the client. - Leverages sector and product knowledge as well as overall business acumen to engage in value-delivering conversations with key business leaders to get at the heart of their business issues, challenges and seeks opportunities as well as their performance drivers in order to confidently present the most appropriate research and analytic solution(s). **Scope of Duties**: - The Relationship Manager will deal with 20+ global clients and prospects, companies with annual sales of €3.0 billion and above and presence in at least 4 countries. - The Relationship Manager coordinates closely as necessary with the TMT, product Risk teams in the geographies where clients operate. - He/she will be responsible to generate total gross margin of €30-50m from the new portfolio of clients by year three and grow the pool of clients / revenue per client to achieve c 15% pa growth thereafter. **Management Responsibilities**: - The position requires mentoring and training BBVA's junior bankers involved with each of the clients. **Qualifications**: - Expertise in Media & Technology sector in Europe. - Minimum 15 years of Corporate or Investment banking experience including as a Global Relationship Manager (or equivalent). - Experience originating, negotiating and leading transactions. - Extensive corporate finance product knowledge including credit, capital markets and derivatives as well as other financial products and services. - Previous experience cross-selling DCM, Cash Management Services, trade finance, multi-product solutions, and risk management solutions (interest rate, commodity and foreign exchange) in the US and globally. - Demonstrated pro-active ownership and expertise in managing credit risk. - A highly professional and polished individual with an entrepreneurial spirit and approach as well as strong overall business acumen. - Must have a Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics or related field. - Proficiency in Spanish is important but not a requirement.
