Established in 1997 as the first manufacturer of sushi for the UK supermarket industry, Taiko has evolved into the most innovative manufacturer of Sushi, Food To Go, Prepared Meals and Snacking products in the UK, supplying Waitrose, Tesco and Sainsbury’s to name a few. Over the past 25 years Taiko has launched more first to market Sushi and Food to Go products than any other sushi manufacturer in the UK.
The Despatch Foods Administrator plays a crucial support role within the despatch team, responsible for managing administrative and clerical tasks to ensure smooth and efficient dispatch of food products. This role involves coordinating paperwork, data entry, communication with transport providers, and assisting with stock and delivery documentation while maintaining strict compliance with food safety and company policies.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Manage and process despatch documentation including delivery notes, invoices, and carrier paperwork accurately and timely.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, stock movements, and delivery schedules in computer systems (e.g., Excel, warehouse management software).
- Coordinate with transport companies and internal teams to schedule and track deliveries, ensuring on-time dispatch.
- Support the despatch team with data entry tasks, including updating order statuses and shipment tracking.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory control processes, reporting discrepancies as necessary.
- Communicate with suppliers, transporters, and internal departments to resolve any delivery or dispatch issues.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards in all administrative tasks.
- Assist with preparing reports on despatch activities for management review.
- Support health and safety procedures by ensuring accurate records and documentation.

**Qualifications and Skills**:
- Previous experience in an administrative role, preferably in logistics, warehousing, or the food industry.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards is an advantage.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) or NAV, pick light software is desirable but not essential.
