**We are PACT Animal Sanctuary **an independent charity providing care for the animals in our care, promoting animal welfare, Creating lasting connections with our animals, the PACT team and the general public and our supporters.
We are looking for **flexible bank/casual support workers** who share our vision and purpose, to join our expanding team at the main sanctuary site in Woodrising, where we provide a safe environment, general animal husbandry and veterinary support prior and post adoption.
If you want variety, we can assure you that no two days will be the same.
**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
- Cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining all areas of the animal enclosures
- Preparing and providing food and water, administering medications and treatments as prescribed by the sanctuary’s Veterinary staff.
- Providing exercise, enrichment and socialisation and attending to the needs of individuals.
- Assessing and monitoring the behaviour of animals, performing regular health checks for any signs of illness or abnormalities.
- Assisting with the rehoming procedure, liaising with customers and the general public, undertaking assessments of suitability between both animals and prospective adopters. Offering advice pre and support post adoption.
- Supporting colleagues in other departments and contributing to the training of volunteers.
- Complying with the sanctuary’s health and safety policies, reducing risks within the working environment, raising any concerns with Farm Managers/Supervisors.
- To undertake other duties as required by the Farm Managers. Other tasks may include:
- Fostering and hand rearing of animals.
- Welcoming visitors at the sanctuary gate for wildlife intakes, donations, and appointments.
- Driving company vehicles for vet runs emergency animal call outs and supply runs.
- Assisting with educational events/talks on occasion.
- Taking and sharing photos/videos to assist the social media team in sanctuary promotion.
