**THE EXTRAORDINARY STORY OF REGINA’S CARE, SUPPORT AND ENCOURAGEMENT**
Westminster Adult Education Service (WAES) is a world of extraordinary stories, where inspirational people help our residents acquire new knowledge and skills on the hundreds of courses we offer. People like Regina, are dedicated to encouraging learners as they navigate the world of study and assisting them as they develop their careers.
Regina started at WAES as an Admissions Temp in 2008 through an agency for a 2-week booking. She excelled in this role and was asked to stay on a permanent basis. Regina loved this role as she was able to support and make a difference to people's lives.
Regina always wanted to support people, help them focus on their dreams and make a positive impact on their lives, so when the new posts of Career and Learning Development Officers came up, she didn’t think twice about embracing the challenges of the role. And now her days are spent welcoming new learners, guiding them on their journeys and pointing them in the direction of opportunities they might never have known about before. With the financial support of WAES, Regina is about to finish her Level 6 qualification in Careers Information Education Advice and Guidance.
Regina is at the heart of our commitment to the residents of Westminster, and her dedication and determination to seek out the best in people is what makes her such an inspiration to her colleagues and the learners she works with.

**The Role**:
As a Learner Experience Apprentice in our WAES, you can make your own powerful contribution by helping Westminster’s residents develop the skills and knowledge they need to achieve a better quality of life.
Combining your studies with hands-on experience, you will work towards securing a Level 3 Business & Administration Apprenticeship, benefitting from six hours of “off-the-job” training each week. Working a flexible shift pattern across all three WAES sites (which are located at Lisson Grove NW8, Amberley Road W9, and the Pimlico Centre in SW1V) you will directly support learners in their educational journeys, handling everything from frontline customer service to administrative duties.
What this looks like could vary hugely on a day-to-day basis. For example, you might handle all aspects of the admissions and enrolment process, or you might take responsibility for responding to requests for information from educational colleagues. If learners ask you to help them navigate the digital admission platform, you’ll be quick to get them up and running, and you’ll be keen to develop a deep knowledge of each of the academic departments so that you can guide learners on their options.
Across all that you do, you will be focused on ensuring that learners enjoy a seamless experience so that they can excel in their chosen studies and courses.
With plenty of support from a collaborative team who will value your contribution to their collective efforts, this is an exceptional opportunity to help people find their full potential - while getting your own career off to a wonderful start.
To find out more about this opportunity and to talk to the learning provider, please join our Open Morning on Friday 21st March 2025 from 10am - 12pm at Lisson Grove. Simply **click on this link** to register your interest.
Please refer to the **Job Description** for more information.
**About You**:
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in education and customer services. To make the most of this opportunity, you will therefore be committed to securing your qualification with us - so a passion for learning is essential With a minimum of Grade 3 at GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English, you will have good verbal and written communication skills, particularly as you will be connecting with learners, staff, parents and carers in person, remotely and via digital means.
The flexibility to work shift patterns is important, including 9am to 5pm on Saturdays if required, alongside occasional evenings.
From a practical point of view, you will have experience in a customer-facing role, and you will enjoy helping people. Excellent IT and technology skills are also vital, and you will be comfortable using Microsoft packages.
Westminster City Council is committed to supporting Care Leavers into the workplace. Care Leavers seeking their first job and who wish to be considered under our scheme, will automatically be invited to interview should they meet the essential criteria for the role.
