**Salary**: £30,000 - £32,000 p/a (DOE) with a £3,000 retention bonus following successful completion of FTC.
**Working Days**: Monday - Friday 37.5 hours p/w

Suttons Tankers are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join our payroll function covering a maternity leave in our team on a Fixed-Term Contract. This role is based out of our Widnes Head Office with the opportunity for hybrid working upon completion of a successful training period.

As one of our Payroll Officers, you will be part of a small payroll team responsible for the end-to-end payroll processing for roughly 950 staff. Our payroll is a combination of monthly and weekly paid colleagues and will include the processing of overtime, allowances, holiday pay and sickness calculations as required.

**Responsibilities**:
Assist in the processing of the payroll for approximately 950 employees ensuring people get paid accurately and on time, across multiple payroll runs
Developing an understanding the different contractual terms of groups of employees and the impact on their pay
Resolve employee payroll queries quickly, making advance payments where required
Overseeing the deductions and payments for PAYE, National Insurance, childcare vouchers, cycle to work, etc
Managing the processing and payment of the Company’s pension schemes and reconciling these regularly, making sure the business is compliant with auto-enrolment requirements
Develop and maintain successful relationships with key stakeholders to ensure successful payroll cycles
Managing new starters and leavers to make sure first and last pay calculations are accurate
Ensuring sickness and holiday calculations are being carried out accurately and in line with employee’s contract terms
Processing and calculation of P11Ds, P60s and P45s
Providing payroll data and reporting to the finance team and wider business as required.
Gender pay reporting
Administration of the company’s death in service scheme

**Experience Required**:
Experienced payroll professional, a minimum of 2 years in a similar role
Experience in working with multiple Contracts of Employment
Excellent Excel skills and used to processing large amounts of data
A confident communicator who is able to challenge people and change behaviours within an operational environment
A fast learner of systems and processes
Experience working within a transport or logistics business would be advantageous
