Non Standard Motor Underwriter

As a Non Standard Motor Underwriter, you will support your Manager and Senior Underwriters in maintaining large and often complex Non-Standard motor products, with the capability to develop an in-depth understanding that will allow you to progress within the team to a point where, as a market specialist, you will be able to manage key accounts within your own expertise.
Main Responsibilities as Non Standard Motor Underwriter

Support the UW Manager and Senior Underwriters with the maintenance of larger and/or complex schemes within the portfolio. Producing reports, conducting analysis and making recommendations.
To monitor all schemes and facilities within your portfolio and ensure performance is in line with Ageas targets.
To conduct due diligence on new scheme, panel and product propositions in order to ensure that the risks that will be presented are in line with the defined risk appetites for the department.
To make decisions on the underwriting acceptance rules to deliver profitable performance and optimise profitable growth on your products
To recommend new underwriting concepts, product covers and documentation by utilising our experience as well as market / legal / competitor analysis
Skills and experience you need as Non Standard Motor Underwriter
Understanding of underwriting and pricing principles and experience of the Personal Motor
Insurance Market.
Awareness and understanding of Non-Standard Motor products including offerings tailored to both unique driver and vehicle profiles
Previous experience in an underwriting and/or pricing environment is preferred.
Relationship skills and dealing with key partners and brokers.
A high degree of numeracy with a strong ability to analyse and interpret data
