**THE ROLE**
Applications are invited from suitably qualified applicants for a fixed
term College Teaching Officership in Economics, associated with a
Fellowship of Pembroke College. All fields of Economics are eligible,
but preference may be given to those able to teach
macroeconomics. An ability to teach in areas such as labour
economics, development economics, public economics and banking
and finance would also be welcomed.

The post holder will also support outreach, admissions, revision and
assessment activity related to this post.
**SALARY & HOURS**
and will be elected to a Fellowship of the College. They will be
required to undertake 240 hours of small-group teaching for the
College during the academic year (equivalent to an average of 12
hours per week during term time), to act as Director of Studies in
Economics, to engage in research and publication, and to
undertake other College offices or duties as appropriate.
The position is tenable from 1 September 2025 to 31 August 2028 or
for a similar period with dates to be agreed and is not renewable or
extendable.
The stipend will be equivalent to point.49 of the Pembroke College
Pay scale, £47,405 per annum, full time. The Fellow will be a
member of the College’s Governing Body and will be expected to
sit on a number of College committees. The privileges of a
Fellowship include seven free meals per week, the possibility of
limited financial support for research expenses, a study room for
teaching and other academic purposes, and possibly single
occupancy residential accommodation in College.

**Work Experience**:
Previous experience in a related or similar environment.
**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:
To provide supervision teaching to Pembroke students across
all years of study. Teach for the College in the Economics Tripos
- with focus on macroeconomics. The amount of teaching
required, mostly supervision (small group tutorial teaching), will
be, on average, 12 hours per week during term throughout the
Michaelmas and Lent Terms and for the first four weeks of the
Easter Term. Supervision includes the provision of verbal and/or
written feedback on students’ submitted written work, and the
completion of Termly reports on the CamCORS system.
To Direct Studies for Pembroke undergraduate students across
all years of study.
Participate in admissions activity including Open Days and the
undergraduates for the Economics Tripos.
To be familiar with the Colleges policies for staff and students
including those on safeguarding, dignity at work, and on

To undertake research and publish original, REF returnable work
in their chosen field of economics.
