**Functional Skills Tutor - South Yorkshire**
Protocol are working with an established college in Sheffield to recruit a dedicated **Functional Skills Tutor**. This is a permanent, full-time position with a salary ranging from **£34,216 to £42,198**, depending on experience. Working hours are from **8:30 am to 4:30 pm**, 52 weeks per year.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Deliver high-quality teaching in Functional Skills (English, Maths, ICT) to learners with complex needs.
- Plan and assess learners' progress, ensuring they meet their targets.
- Manage learner files, report on progress, and liaise with parents/carers.
- Work closely with support staff to provide an inclusive and effective learning environment.
- Promote independent learning and provide personal care where necessary.
- Participate in the development of a holistic curriculum that meets learners’ aspirations.
**Requirements**:
- Level 4 Award in Education & Training (or equivalent), PGCE or Cert Ed.
- Minimum Level 2 (or equivalent) Maths and English.
- Experience teaching learners with autism, SLD, and PMLD within a special education setting.
- Proven ability to teach vocational courses and Functional Skills at Pre-Entry to Level 2.
- Knowledge of assessment frameworks such as RARPA and Ofsted's Education Inspection Framework (EIF).
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
**Desirable**:
- Degree in an appropriate discipline/QTS/QTLS.
- Competent signer to support learners with communication difficulties.
- Experience of working in a college setting and supporting students with learning disabilities.
